Chapter4: Sargent Rupert

‘Who said that?’ said Bill

The man said ‘I have come and saved you from them…Let me start at the beginning. My name is Sargent Rupert Box. It all started when I was younger, I happened to be walking down by the river early one morning when I found a cardboard box. Inside where two kittens – one black with white mittens and the other one a white with black mittens. I named the black cat Mittens and the white cat Sox. As kittens they where really cute and playful, however, as they grew, I noticed Mittens became really strange.

Mittens started doing his own thing, I had come into a room and he wasn’t lying around

sleeping like a cat does. I would find him with a screwdriver tinkering with machines or appliances to see how they worked. He was muttering under his breath – talking! Saying things like ‘This could be ok if I could combine it with the accelerator…’’

Bill and Bob could not believe their ears. ‘Wait, wait, wait – you’re saying you are the

owner of President Claw?’

Sargent Rupert nodded and continued ‘One day we went to a Technology convention centre,

Sox and I where looking at new iphone ‘Pudgy XRL, I turned around to see what

Mittens thought - but he was gone. What I did not know at the time was that Mittens was behind the performing stage (where companies show off their new machines) and he was working at combining all the machines into a mega laser. When the curtains opened, they saw Mittens controlling this mega laser. Mittens started rapidly shooting throughout the building. People ran in every direction trying to escape.

I heard all the screams and ran to the stage. ‘Stop what your doing Mittens!’ I shouted. 

Mittens ignored me and proceeded to put on a jet pack and fly away. Mittens stopped in mid-air and looked at me with his bright green eyes, he laughed and said ‘Mittens is no more! My name is President Claw! Hahahahaha!’ and he flew off.

Sargent Rupert suddenly stopped and said, ‘I’d like you to meet Sox’, a white cat with

black mittens appeared from behind him. 

He walked over to the boys and said, ‘We’ve been trying to stop my

brother President Claw from taking over the world and that’s why we need your

help.’
