Great fire of London Blog

2nd September 1666

Its 3 am in the morning and i'm woken by the heat and the shouts and screams by people running from the fire starting from Thomas Farynor Bakery on Pudding Lane because he hasn't put out the fire before he went to bed but I just went back to bed. Between 7 and 8 am my maid started sending their stuff to the Northern side of the City so I said to start pulling houses down to stop the fire spreading so rapidly.. I just realized that 300 houses were destroyed, but I think it's because they store oil, wine, hemp, tar, coal and timber in their waterside warehouses. People keep telling me to do something about it but I don't have anything to do.
