The Spanish Armada sailed to England in a total of 130 army ships with 2,500 guns and 30,000 men!

Sir Francis Drake, a very clever

English man, set fire to ships

loaded with gun powder and

sent them out to the Spanish.

When the Spanish tried to

retreat the English blocked

them so they sailed up to north

Scotland.

Only 58 ships made it back to

Spain. Some crashed on the

coast of Ireland and the rest

sunk.
