THE CAT IN THE BOX

One day, there was this family which had a daughter. This daughter's name was Katie. She had her tenth birthday. When she woke up she brushed her teeth, put on her clothes and went downstairs to find her mum and dad calling her name. They shouted, "Katie, Katie we have a surprise for you!!"

She found them in the backyard. She went out and saw a very, very mysterious box on a table. She was wondering what was inside the box. They told her to look inside so that's what she did, and guess what? There was nothing in it. She stared at her mum and dad confusingly, asking them, "And what's supposed to be in the box?"

Her mum looked inside the box in astonishment, wondering where it had gone. She searched under the table but she still didn't find anything. After a while, dad started to look around and as he pointed to a tree, he shouted, "There's the cat in the tree!" They looked and took a big gasp of breath.

"There he is, it's Fluffo your new pet cat," Mum said. "He probably crawled out of the box while we were calling you." They managed to get Fluffo down the tree without hurting it. Katie was very happy with her new pet. Katie and Fluffo lived happily together.
