The Ice Monster is set in London,1899

Plot

Elsie was living in a orphanage it was called Wormly Hall home for unwanted children. The owner of Wormly Hall was a cruel old witch, the children would be starved and beaten. Every night Elsie would scratch bits of the walls so one night she could actally escape. And when that night came she packed her bags and said goodbye to her friends. Elsie had nowhere to live so she lived on the streets of London even though it was very cold it had some advantges like you would be the first one to hear about the news and she could steal fresh fruits from the stalls. One day one of the news paper sellers announced that an Ice Monster was still alive Elsie was very intreeged to find more about this Ice monster so she stole one of the news papers. She couldn't read but she liked looking at the pictures. One night it was very cold in London Elisie was shivering so she went to the museum for shelter even though it was closed she snuk past gaurds. Soon she found a cuboard there wasn't enough room to lie down so she slepped standing up when suddenly a ckeaner opened her mop coboard and picked up Elisie thinking she was a mop untill she realized it was a girl. Dotty was a very nice lady instead of calling the gaurds she made sure the girl was allright. The next day was when the ice monster was coming to London all of london was there even the Queen. Elsie didn't think it was right for the poor animal to be locked up in a cage so she deciede to free it so she did. But she can't do this all by herself so she asked Dotty to help her and dotty got her boyfriend to help and his army friends so they stole a boat and set off to the artic and they freed the animal Elsie was very upset but she knew it was the right thing to do.

I recomend the ice monster because it is very adventurous, Exciting and very funny. The characters are really creative and this book makes you feel happy.
