Galileo Galilei

He was born in 1564 in Italy. He became an Astronomer,

physicist and mathematician. He observed that the moon had mountains, pits and other features, just like Earth.

About the sun he observed that it had sunspots, which appear to be dark in colour and it rotates.

He believed that the sun was in the centre of our Solar System and was orbited by the Earth and other planets.

Today, he is viewed as an important astronomer and scientist.
