Step1: First there were many living animals growing together.

Step 2: Then each animal makes a hard wall around it.

Step 3: The animals dies.

Step 4: The hard wall is left behind.

Step 5: Another animal grows on top.

Step 6: The coral grows bigger and taller.

A coral reef is very colourful. It looks like a plant but it is not, when people see it they will think that it looks like a garden but they are actually tiny animals mashed together. But people say they look like bushes too.
