Coral reefs

Explain how a coral reef is made.

Step 1: First, many living animals grow together.

Step 2: Each animal makes a hard wall around it.

Step 3: Then the animal dies sadly.

Step 4: The hard wall is left behind.

Step 5: Another animal grows on top.

Step 6: Finally, the coral grows bigger and taller.

A coral reef looks like an underwater garden. Coral reefs look like small plants and bushes, however they are not plants, they are tiny animals. Coral reefs are very colourful like a rainbow and they come in different shapes and sizes.
