1:Vesuvius is found in Italy.

2:It is near Naples , Pompeii and Herculaneum.

3:Vesuvius is 1,220 meters high.

4:It erupted on 24th August AD 79.

5:Pompeii and Herculaneum disappeared under ash and lava.

6:We know about it because a man called Pliny wrote about the volcano when it erupted in AD 79.
