It was Saturday afternoon when Lily and her mum decided to go shopping. That morning the weather reporter had said that it was going to rain. They got in their car and went to the shop. They had forgotten it was going to rain.

When they got there, it was raining. "Mum, we forgot to bring our umbrellas!" exclaimed Lily.

Her mum suggested, "Let's wait under that tree."

Lily and her mum went to stand under the tree. They waited there for an hour and, then, Lily cried, "Mum I'm getting cold."

"I think we should go home," decided Mum. So they got in their car. But, on their way home, the car stopped!

Lily asked, "Mum, why did you stop?"

Her mother replied, "We're out of gas! I guess we have to walk home." Soon they were walking. When they almost got to their street, a car drove through a puddle and splashed them and they ended up soaked to the bone!
