Elephants
One day I would like to meet an elephant. Elephants amaze me a lot as they are the largest existing land animals. There are three living species that are currently recognized which are African bush elephants, the African forest elephant and the Asian elephant. An elephant is about 3 metres high and it weighs about 4000 kilograms. The Asian elephant lives an average of 48 years while the African bush and the African forest live between 60 and 70 years. Elephants are greyish to brown in colour. They have many adaptations that allow them to thrive warm habitats. Their big ears are wrinkly skin help them stay cool. They also have tusks made of ivory that can help them eat and protect themselves.
