These activities are just suggestions. Do not feel pressured to complete everything! I am trying to provide a range of activities to fit the needs of all the children and their families. Please choose what works best for you!

TASKS
Complete the my maths activities set when the school closed and the new ones.
Start to work through the Year 5 revision booklet (on the school website under PUPILS - YEAR 5 HOME LEARNING SUMMER 2020). This may take a few weeks!
Complete the spoiled party mystery (on the school website under PUPILS - YEAR 5 HOME LEARNING SUMMER 2020).
Complete the 2 tasks on the maths blog.
Complete a fluent in 5 and a reasoning a day daily (on the school website under PUPILS - YEAR 5 HOME LEARNING SUMMER 2020)
Continue to practise your times tables - multiplication and division facts
learn times tables songs
write your times tables out
get someone to test you using flashcards
play hit the button or j2e blast

SPELLING

TASKS
As often as you can, write out as many of the 3/4 word list as you can in 5 minutes. When completed move onto the 5/5 world list (on the school website under PUPILS - YEAR 5 HOME LEARNING SUMMER 2020. I also sent these home with the children).
Learn the spellings and test yourself on Friday. Comment your score below! 

CHALLENGE - Find new words in your book or in a dictionary. Learn to spell them and find out what they mean! Comment them below!

Reading & Grammar

TASKS
Read every day and discuss what you have read- What is happening? What are the characters like? Have you spotted any new words?
At the end of the week, write a summary of your what you have read so far of your book and predict what you think will happen next.

Complete another comprehension in your CGP book.
Start to work through the Spring English Activity Booklet on the school website under PUPILS - YEAR 5 HOME LEARNING SUMMER 2020). This may take a few weeks! Use your CGP book to help you with the grammar or ask me!

PSHE

It is good to have positive self-esteem - that is when you think nice things about yourself!
There are things we can do to boost our own self-esteem. Here are my ideas:
Try not to judge yourself against somebody else (even though it’s really difficult not to). We are all unique and have our own personalstrengths and qualities. We might be being unfair to ourselves if we do this.
Focus on the positives not the negatives (Positive self-talk).
Notice any negative self-talk, press pause and change it to positive.
When something goes wrong, work out why and try not to blame yourself. Make it a new challenge and work out how to achieve it.
Spend time with people who love and respect you. They will help you feel better about yourself because they enjoy spending time with you.
If you are feeling worried or down about something, talk to someone you trust about it.

TASK - Can you think of any other things we could do to boost our self-esteem?
TASK - Before you go to sleep every night recall 3 good things that happened to you that day and 3 things that you are grateful for.
TASK - Record anything that has gone wrong and make it a challenge to work out how to achieve it.
