Luke Evans was born in Pontypool in 1979, when he was 5 years old, he moved to Aberbargoed in Caerphilly with his parents, Yvonne and David Evans. Luke does not have any brothers and sisters.

Luke and his family were Jehovah's Witnesses, but when he left school at 16 Luke decided to leave the religion. When he turned 17, Luke moved to Cardiff and had a singing coach.

In 1997, Luke was very lucky and won a scholarship to The London Studio Centre, he was there for 3 years and he graduated in 2000.

Between 2000 and 2009, Luke did a lot of Theatre, he was on stage in lots of London's West End shows like Miss Saigon, Rent and Small Change.
