These activities are just suggestions. Do not feel pressured to complete everything! I am trying to provide a range of activities to fit the needs of all the children and their families. Please choose what works best for you!

MAIN TASKS

Complete a fluent in 5 and a reasoning a day daily - both week 20 (on the school website under PUPILS - YEAR 5 HOME LEARNING SUMMER 2020)
Continue to practise your times tables - multiplication and division facts
OTHER TASKS
Continue to complete the my maths activities. 
Complete the mystery of the super snack for lower key stage 2 (easier) or/and the mystery of the Burgled Bangers for upper key stage 2 (harder) (on the school website under PUPILS - YEAR 5 HOME LEARNING SUMMER 2020).
Complete 2 pages of you Blue Rising Stars Practise Book
Complete 2 pages of your CGP mental maths book

SPELLING

TASKS
As often as you can, write out as many of the 3/4 word list as you can in 5 minutes. When completed move onto the 5/5 world list (on the school website under PUPILS - YEAR 5 HOME LEARNING SUMMER 2020. I also sent these home with the children).
Learn the spellings and test yourself on Friday. Comment your score below! 
CHALLENGE - Find new words in your book or in a dictionary. Learn to spell them and find out what they mean! Comment them below!

English 

Reading Tasks
Read every day and discuss what you have read- What is happening? What are the characters like? Have you spotted any new words?
At the end of the week, write a summary of your what you have read so far of your book and predict what you think will happen next. 
Complete another comprehension in your CGP book.

English Tasks
Watch the grammar videos on bbc bitesize and create a revision guide on J2e about what you learnt! CLICK HERE!
Complete the daily Pobble activities - CLICK HERE
Complete a grammar section and a reading section in your CGP grammar book.
Use your Grammar, punctuation and spelling CGP book to help you with the grammar activities or ask me via email.

Writing

TASK: Read my poem 'The Ride'. Think about how the words and structure of the poem reflect the feeling of riding a rollercoaster. Read it out loud, experimenting with your pitch, volume and speed to capture the experience of the ride.

TASK: Write a shape poem your own poem called 'The Ride'. 

Shape poetry develops the physical form of the words on paper. So, a poem about the stars would take the shape of a star (or stars). 

PSHE

Make mini beasts out of pebbles

Make frogs or other animals out of 
          yoghurt pots
Build a den

Finance 

Online gaming has both positives and negatives! 

TASK: Make a positive of the positive things about online gaming (having fun, playing friends, being who you want to be) and the negatives (trolling, people may not be who they say they are)

TASK: Research and blog about your ideal home from Rightmove (any price) 

Topic

Geography Task: Visit the website of them parks outside the UK (Disney World's Magic Kingdom or Universal's Islands of Adventure). Take virtual tours and look at their theme park maps! Compare the parks layout with the layout of UK's theme parks (Alton Towers, Drayton Manor, Thorpe Park). Compare the size, visitor capacity, cost, transport links, location and physical terrain.

Compete in the CSW school games virtual challenge 

The CSW School Games Virtual Challenge is an exciting programme of sporting competition running throughout the summer term, giving all children the chance to represent their school team.
