My Tremendous Trip and the Terrific Tortoise
20 October 2020
I, Charles Darwin, have finally reached the Galapagos Islands after four years of voyaging on the grand HMS Beagle. As I reached the dock, I gazed at the forest of palm trees, the golden sand and the tourists, constantly clicking their retched cameras resulting a flashing light, scaring the remaining wildlife amongst them. I had already packed my substantial bag, inside it, the contents were: three litres of water, two tuna sandwiches, a few energy bars, a green salad, a bag of potato chips and a change of clothes (if I become filthy). So, I set off to venture through the Galapagos Islands to see what I would potentially be work with.
As I leisurely strolled through, I came across the body of a bird.It must have been eaten because I saw obvious bite marks. Sadly, that is the circle of life.Carefully, I put into my bag for later examination. From a distance, I came across apes. I thought that if it stood up and did not possess
fur, it would slightly appear as a human. How extraordinary! However, what really caught my eye was the giant tortoise. As I discovered it, I realised that it was getting dark.
I hurried to my quarters, or I would be the next victim of the predators. Tomorrow, I would thoroughly examine it.

Hurriedly, packed a two cheese sandwiches and two bottles of water, for I had learnt that I did not need that much nutrients. It was absolutely hot outside, so I left my jacket at my quarters. I sprinted towards the wildlife and looked back at the HMS Beagle, elated that I was out of it. Turning my sprint into a walk, I realised that I had frightened many animals of. Disappointed, I had only began to see the animals later on. I was madly drawing the appearances of the diverse creatures to study later. Two gruelling hours later, I had found what I was looking for. I saw this giant tortoise meticulously crawling through the burning sand. I felt its neck and it was pea-green and had the texture of crispy leaves. Yet, the shell was the colour of rust and was sturdy and reliable. It had the aroma of sea salt and mildew. Beautiful. Overall, the giant tortoise is a majestic creature.
