This week in Year 5, our lesson has focused on homophones. We investigated whether the hardest spellings were their/there/they're and their usage.

Here is a list of the homophones we learnt about:

their / there/ they're

two / too / to

are / our

might / mite

knew / new

no / know

Commonly mixed up words in our writing:

where / were / we're

On Friday, you will be given 5 of these in a dictation exercise. Practise them so that you know which ones are used when.

Some of you may wish to also practise these and your high frequency words shared with Y5 in J2SpellBlast.
