In Science we are learning about the plants and animals that live in different habitats. A habitat is a home environment for plants and animals. There are lots of different habitats in the world. First click on the link (squirrel picture) to find out about a woodland habitat.

TASK: Watch the clip on woodland habitats and complete the quiz.

TASK: Produce a poster or a blog on different habitats and show the different plants and animals that live in the different habitats.

Last term we practised drawing sketch maps. SEE EXAMPLE

TASK: Draw a sketch map of your own garden or an imaginary garden. Don't forget to include a key.

PSHE

TASK: Draw a picture of the people/pets in your family.

TASK: Write down what makes a

happy home eg laughter, compromise,

kindness.

TASK: Produce a Happy Home recipe.

Think about the ingredients and then write down as a recipe. ( Just like the one we did at school when we wrote a friendship

recipe)

TASK: Make a card for someone in your family to thank them for being special.

This half term, we are thinking about

relationships. The tasks this week are focusing

on our family.

SPELLING

On the pupil section of our school website - click on year 2 summer home learning. You will find a common exception word document.

TASK: Ask someone to test you on some of the year 1 and year 2 common

exception words. Select some of the ones you get wrong to practise.

Make a poster with these words.

TASK: Complete a proof reading activity which can be found within the same

document.

TABLES/ NUMBER BONDS

It is really important to keep practising your tables (x2, x5, 10 first and then you can try and learn the others) and number bonds to and within 10,20,100.

TASK: Play Hit the Button or J2 Blast (on J2E)

TASK: Complete the number bonds challenge ( document is in the year two summer learning section of the school website)

TASK: Make a number bond or tables poster to help you learn them.
