HURRICANES




(1. There is no difference between a typhoon, cyclone and a hurricane. The names only differ depending on where the storm takes place.


(2. Hurricanes are given names so that they can be easily tracked.


(3. Hurricanes are measured using satellites and sending aircrafts into them to see how strong they are.


(4. Hurricanes occur In summer or autumn, when warm ocean air rises quickly. Other air is sucked in to take its place, this rises to form clouds.The clouds begin to spin as the earth does, creating a swirling storm.


(5. A state of an emergency means that a government intervenes stopping their usual business and focusing on sorting at the problems.


(6. People prepare themselves for a storm by stocking up with food water and medicines and often evacuate the area and hide in shelters.


(7. Texas flooded because they had a years worth of rain in one week.


(8. I would ask the government for money to help pay for the repairs caused by the hurricane, and also help other people by donating food, water, clothes to the people that lost their homes.


(9. I think a lot of people would loose their jobs and business as a result of the damage cause by the hurricane therefore they would rely on the government to support them financially this would create a lot of pressure on the government.
