When I climbed a mountain
I was brave and daring when I got an invitation to climb the unconquered mountain. It was a challenge I could not resist, so I accepted.
It was the first time I climbed such a high mountain. I was nervous, but I set off with my climbing equipment and my two fellow climbers, Josh and Kate. We went off to see the mountain and I was petrified.
It was steep sided with huge patches of slippery ice. It was like a pyramid with sharp rocks and narrow paths that led to the summit. We went forward as the wind blew us back. We also had to wear goggles because the snow was so thick and we could barely see anything.
We saw different plants on the way to the top, all covered in snow. At night we had to camp because climbing a mountain at night is dangerous. We set up two bonfires to keep warm and tents to keep us safe. In the morning we woke up early, at five in the morning, to eat a few snacks and continue our journey. When we go close to the peak, I nearly fell! I slipped on an icy rock, but luckily Josh rescued me. When I fell, I also lost both my gloves but Kate had some spare ones. We got closer to the top and we saw three polar bears on and icebearg!
It was a hard climb, maybe the hardest but we all made it safely to the top! I put the Maltese flag at the peak and was so proud! I felt amazing and I loved the climb so much, I'm going to climb another and another!
