The Storm
Last winter, I went through a terrible and horrible experience. I remember it very clearly and that is why my past haunts me.
It started on the 6th of February, when I was sleeping in my bed tucked in a fleecy red blanket, when then, all of a sudden I heard a noise. I went downstairs to look through the window as I heard thunder as I was getting closer and closer to the window.
When I looked out of the window, I saw rain falling down from grey clouds flooding the streets. About two minutes later, I realized that the lights went out because of a big bolt of lightning I had already heard. Then I went to fix the lights from the garage, but I realized that water was coming into my house!
I fixed the lights as quickly as I could, so then I could call for help. As I was calling, the water was rising higher and higher! DING! That was help coming! When they took all the water, I immediately turned on the TV to watch the news, while holding a warm cup of hot chocolate and putting a piece of chocolate cake on the living room table. I saw a little boy and girl with their mum drowning in the water that was flooding the streets on the news!
When the storm was over the next morning, I was glad it was over, although I still had to clean pellets of ice from my backyard as I smelt wet soil.
