SCARLET AND IVY - THE LAST SECRET

At the sixth year of Rookwood school, Scarlet and Ivy are faced with a problem. The son of Mr Bartholomew, who is said to own the school, wants to close Rookwood down and turn it into flats. Nobody is happy with this. He starts inspecting the school to check if it's safe. But, Scarlet, Ivy and their best friend Ariadne, with help from some other girls, find out that truly he is looking for the hidden will in the school that states who the real owner is.

During the Christmas break, when Scarlet and Ivy were at home, they saw that their father didn't seem his usual self and had the suspicion that it had something to do with their stepmother. For Christmas, their father gave them a music box that had once belonged to their mother who died a long time before. Inside the box, Scarlet and Ivy discover that there is a secret drawer with diary pages, written by their mother, explaining that it was meant for their father, who obviously never discovered it, and say that Mr Bartholomew was after her because she wanted to reveal all the things she knew about him. So Mr Bartholomew threatened her not to tell anyone.

When the school reopens after the Christmas break, Mr Bartholomew's son suddenly tells all the students to go home for a week. When at home, Scarlet and Ivy find out why their father hasn't been himself; their stepmother poisoned his food. Once they manage to prove it to their father, he sends the stepmother away with her sons.

When they get back to school, after the sudden week off, they tell their best friend Ariadne what they have found out about their mother and get a group of girls, who then call themselves the whispers, to help save the school.

They find out about the existence of the real will and start searching for it. After they have searched almost the entire school building, they realise where the will must be hidden: the Matron's apartment. In the apartment, they search behind all the paintings and find a safe, where they think the real will is hidden. They find the first two keys for the safe, but they must be quick to find the third key before the school is shut down forever. They suddenly remember Mrs Fox, the old head teacher, and her massive bunch of keys that she carried around and realise that the third key must be there. With the help of the ballet teacher, Mrs Fox's daughter, who like all the other teacher wants to save the school, they rush to the asylum, where Mrs Fox now lives, and take the third key back with them.
