Blog

2nd September 1666

It was 2:00 am and I was awoke by

the shouting and screaming outside

on the street. I looked out of my

window and I saw smoke coming out

of Thomas Farynor's bakery in Pudding Lane.

At 7:00 am 300 houses were destroyed.At 8:00 am

people began to send their belongings into the northern

parts of the City to keep them safe.

The Great Fire of London spreaded all way to city

devastating many buildings including 13,200 house,

87 parish churches, The Royal Exchange

and Guildhall. St. Paul’s Cathedral, built during the middle

ages, was totally destroyed. The death toll was six people,

yet a great many others died through indirect causes.
