Tropical rainforests have tall trees, lots of rain and are always hot. Occasionally, it will rain more than an inch almost everyday of the year! They are mainly found in Africa and Asia. However, the largest rainforest does not come exist in either of these, as the Amazon is the largest and is found in South America.
Rainforests also have some animals that are indigenous to themselves such as the tree frog. They range from the size of a vole to an elephant. Although only covering just below two percent of the earth's surface, rainforests own over fifty percent of the earth's plant life.
There are two types of rainforest: temperate and tropical. The monsoon role [also known as the intertropical convergence zone] plays a significant role in creating climatical conditions necessary to sustain earth's tropical rainforests.
It has been estimated that millions of species, plants and micro-organisms still live undiscovered in tropical rainforests. Rainforests are also responsible for producing twenty eight percent of our oxygen.
