Possums Fact File


Possums are small marsupials with thick bushy tails, thick body fur and pointed snout and ears. The most common brush tail possum was first introduced to New Zealand and Australia for the fur trade.


Possums live in many countries like forests in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Sulawesi, New Zealand and China.


The collective name for Possums is called 'Passel.' A Possum belongs to the mammal family under the scientific name 'Didelphimorphia.'


Their diet is Omnivores and there average weight is 4 to 12 lbs . There average size is 15 to 20 inches. My last fact is there maximum lifespan in the wild is 5 to 8 years
