Once upon a time there was a man. This man's name was Eric. He had gone through something really scary that I want to tell you about.

One day Eric was quietly reading a book about monsters on his bed. After hours and hours of reading he was falling asleep. He was so sleepy, he closed his eyes and dropped his book. Meanwhile, his dog was fast asleep on a mat next to the bed.

He had a small candle next to him, to work as a light, but he accidentally forgot to close the window so a lot of wind started coming in and the curtains were waving like noodles skydiving.

Suddenly, one of the curtains flew over the candle and caught on fire. His dog smelled the smoke from the burning curtain and woke up. The dog got on the side of the bed and barked as loudly as he could to wake up his owner.

The owner rushed to the curtain and shook the curtain off the hooks, stepped on it and put out the fire. The next day Eric gave his dog a bone for saving his life.
