Dear Ahmed, 

It was good to hear from you. Glad you like your new school and that you have got lots of friends. Also found it cool that you have a good view of the Nile and the pyramids from your playground. Wish my school was that lucky!  

I’m writing from school, as you can see- Tufnell Park Primary School. My class is called Columba (every class is named after a constellation) and I’m in Year 4. My little sister also goes to this school, but she’s in Year 1. My favourite subject is maths- what’s yours?

School’s been a bit different lately because of coronavirus. I’m actually writing this while I’m in quarantine, as someone I’ve been in contact with tested positive. It’s an absolute pain not being able to go out, but I’m managing well with my schoolwork and am still having fun. I’m really looking forward to going back and seeing all my friends next Tuesday. Have you or any of your family been affected?

In my free time, I like to read books (lots of them) and write stories. There’s barely a surface in my house that doesn’t have a stack of books or a pile of writing paper on it! What do you like to do in your spare time? 

I hope we can meet up in person one day. I’d love to come to Egypt and have a look around Cairo.
