Digestive system

This page is about how the food you eat digests through your body. There are five different parts in your body and all of those together are called the Digestive system. You will learn everything about the Digestive system in this page. Enjoy!

The first part of the system is the mouth. The mouth is used to break up the food with your teeth. Your mouth contains a watery liquid in it called Saliva. Saliva contains Enzymes which help break up the food.

The oesophagus, also known as the gullet, uses all its strength to push the food down to the stomach which contains acids to turn the food into watery porridge. It will lead to the Small Intestine.

.

The small intestine is a long tube which measures 25 feet long. It absorbs the nutrients from the food into the blood which helps your body function more better.

The large intestine is made of a few different parts. It measures up to 5 feet long and is very wide ( which is the reason they call it 'Large'). It absorbs all the bad parts of the food into the last part of it which is the Rectum.

At last, all the waste comes out!
