Half Term Gardening diary

 Saturday 23rd May 2020

Dear Diary, 

Today I bought seeds for the garden. I got flower bulbs, cornflower seeds and cat grass seeds. Once I planted the seeds, I carefully watered them. I’m waiting in anticipation for my cornflowers to grow…. this could take a while. According to the seed packet, they will take 14 days to grow. Unlike the cat grass, which should take 5 days according to the seed packet.

I will have to wait and see.

It’s Bank Holiday Monday! 
No flowers yet…not that I was expecting any this early on.

Dear Diary, 

GREEN SHOOTS!
This morning, I saw the first green shoots of the cat grass seeds that I planted on Saturday. The packet said fast growing but I didn’t expect them to grow this quickly!

No signs of cornflowers yet.

Saturday 30th May 2020

Dear Diary, 

With all this lovely weather and beautiful sunshine, my cat grass has grown over 2 cm. It won’t be long before my cat - Tilly - will be able to have her first nibble. Tilly hasn’t been herself lately. She has been reluctant to go outside and do her usual prowling. Hopefully, the grass will perk her up.

Dear Diary, 

Cat grass is a success!
My cat Tilly approves of the cat grass.
The blades of grass are very long and thick now. My cat thinks that it is purrfect!
