Diary dangerous treatments
14th March 1821
Dear diary ,
Today was my most shocking day. I had a patient come in saying that he was not in a good mood and whatever he tried he just wouldn’t get happy. So this is how it starts. I had just finished with a patient who had their baby crying continuously so I just gave the baby some soothing syrup and told the person that the baby is now quiet.
Then suddenly a man barged right through the crowd of patients and ran right into the room. He said that he would not get happier no matter what so I told my freaked out patient to just sit and I would just poke a needle through his eye. But as soon as I had just finished speaking he screamed he tried to run but he just ran right into the wall.
So when I got him back to the seat and gave him some soothing syrup and he fell straight down into the seat so i got my needle and put it right up his eye socket. I wibbled the needle and wobbled it , the squish of his brain made my food go right back up.
So I hurried when I finished, his face did not look any happier so I checked the doctors manual and it said that I needed to get a worm and let it go up his arm to suck out his extra blood so i got the worm. The worm made my heart jump right out of my chest but I had to save this man.
Then I wondered why the man hadn’t woken up but I just focused on my job. After an hour or so I checked my patient's facial expression but it hadn’t seemed to change at all so I checked my manual again and it said he should be happy by now.
So I made sure that no one else was in the room and I pinched my patient’s cheeks and quickly changed his facial expression. Then I checked my manual and it said that he should have woken up by now so I decided to wait one more hour but after that hour he still didn’t wake up. So I just grabbed my patient and threw him out the back window and pretended like nothing had happened.
