She gritted her teeth and began the climb.
With her vulnerable young perched precariously on her back as she ascended the branch,Extra weight caused her paws to tremble, and her sensitive whiskers to twitch at the strain.
Now that their nest had gone, and storm clouds gathering overhead, she was desperate to find a new location to begin building again. It was their only chanceā¦
The seventh baby spots a den, he tells his mum and they set of. When they got there, there were slugs, snails and spiders everywhere. It was dark, creepy and something was moving. Two bright orbs shone in the darkness, the mother trembled in fear and her babies ducked behind her hiding in her dirt old fur. Suddenly a happy voice exclaimed,
"Hello! Would you like to join me? I do love a visitor in my humble home...Do come in and join me, the weather is quite terrible today.'
She sighed in relief and let out a long slow breath, relived to have found a friendly animal to help her and her babies.
'Thank you so much, I was ever so worr....'
'Now, now, now, do come in from the rain and have some tea and cookies.'
With that she entered the friendly badger's den.
