The characters are Oliver(the little boy), Iris(the mermaid ) and Oliver's parents.

The story is about a little boy who has lost his parents and is on an adventure to find them.

My favourite part is when Iris scares Oliver because the words that the author used makes the paragraphs interesting and funny.
