The surprise Party!

One day Joe woke up and looked out of the window, like he always did.

He saw a car he couldn't see the colour of because there was a trail of smoke

behind it. The car parked in front of his house. Out of the car came his mum Alice.

She was holding two bags, a blue balloon and a box. His mum's face looked excited. Joe thought "Why is she holding those things?"

He went straight to the door and opened the door and... his mum said "SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!"

Joe thought "That's why she looked so excited!"

Later Joe's aunt and uncle came to their house to celebrate Joe birthday. His cousin Lily came too! They played games, ate the cake, ate yummy food...

It was time to open the presents! He opened them. The first one was a yoyo from his mum, the second one was a toy car from his aunt and the last one was from his cousin Lily. It was the best gift of all... a soft toy dinosaur that roared! He was so pleased!

They had a great time and soon it was time to say goodbye. Joe said, "Goodbye

and thanks for coming to my party! I loved your gifts!"

When they left he hugged his mother and said, "Thank you mum". He was so happy

and he couldn't wait for the next year!
