Oxygen was discovered by Joseph Priestley. Oxygen is in the air around us and is vital for keeping us alive.


It’s also produced by plants and plankton, without which there would be no life on earth. 


in addition to his discovery of oxygen and other gases, Priestley studded electricity and optics. 


He then went on to invent carbonated water. This is water with carbon dioxide dissolved, making it fizzy, making it an ingredient in lemonade, coke and our other favorite drinks. 


Oh yeah, I was reading a book about gases. I think it was called all about Helium. I just couldn’t put it down!
