Galileo Galilei

Galileo Galilei was born in 1564, in Italy, and died in 1642. He became an astronomer, physicist and mathematician. Galileo Galilei observed that the moon was covered in craters and mountains. He also observed that the sun was covered in dark areas called sunspots and that the sun was rotating. He believed that the sun was the centre of the Solar System and was orbited by the Earth and the other planets. Today, he is viewed as an important astronomer and scientist. Galileo Galilei helped our scientists understand more about the Solar System. He is indeed the father of modern Science.
