Persuasive writing
1. The term persuasive means, to convince, advise, persuade somebody.
2. Reapted words, a strong argument, emotional language are three main features of persuasive writing.
3. 'For' and 'against' is when one side speaks for the topic and when one side speaks against the topic in a debate or in a persuasive text.
4. These phrases can be used in a balanced argument
* I am speaking to you today because...
* I am writing to you today...
* I have herd tumors that...
5. Questions that can be used in a debate.
* Why do we have to to work at home when school is closed.
* Why do we have to listen to government advice to stay indoors for corona virus 19 lockdown.
* Why can't children set their own bed times.
6. In the real world persuasive language/vocabulary is used every day in places such as protests and marches, where people give speeches. Even in shopping centres where people have stalls and approach you and try to persuade you to buy their goods.
