How Joe ruined his birthday surprise

In the morning his wife went to buy him presents. She didn't think he would wake up early because at the weekend he woke up at eleven in the morning. She went to the shops as fast as she could because it was almost ten.

Joe woke up earlier than usual because he wanted to do something fun instead of staying in his bed doing nothing, so he went downstairs made some coffee and had some cookies.

When he went downstairs, he got the food to feed his the birds and then he went next to his window and fed the birds. While he was feeding them he, suddenly, heard the squealing of brakes. There was a big cloud of dust and a car speeding down the road. It was his wife's car!

When she saw him, she was shocked. Then she told him that he wasn't suppose to be awake.

"I know," he said "but it's still late."

"Fine, you can still see what I've got and eat the cake." He ate the cake happily.

From then on she never got him a present on the same day as his birthday.
