Barack Obama was the first black president of the USA. He was the president right before Trump! His wife is called Michelle Obama.

For many people around the world, his election represented a high point in the long struggle for civil rights for black people in America.

Born in Hawaii, his mother was American and his father was from Kenya. He trained as a lawyer before going into politics. Obama was the 44th President of the United States and he took office from 2009 to 2017. He is in the Democrats party! Hilary Clinton was competing in the last election but Trump won!!!
