Dear mother
I am writing to you to let you know I’ve arrived at Appledore
safely. It was so much fun on the train ride and I made a new friend called
Josh
The train journey was 8 hrs long and I saw fields full of horses cows and sheep. The carriage was a bit small but it was still fun we played board games like chess it was a once in a lifetime experience I was so happy I sat next josh he was a bit older than me I was so emotional about leaving you at home with woody our cat( Josh is a really good friend) hope your ok at home with woody.
When we arrived we went to the village and to the village hall to get my host family there names are mrs and mr baker they are very nice they have a really big house they are bakers in the local bakery I always get the bread straight out of the oven it is so tasty I have a paddle in the stream on weekends the pond the water is so clear I really like paddling in the stream it’s so relaxing and calming.
when we arrived at the house me and josh explored mr and Mrs baker let us do anything we want me and josh got put together we have a paddle in the pond together also I got a new school my teacher is nice to me and josh but there’s a person called mike he doesn’t like me and josh.
I really miss our cat woody and you although it’s nice here it’s kind of upsetting that you couldn’t come with me so hope your ok at home how’s Coventry cathedral since you live in Coventry.
overall evacuation went quite well so enjoy and hope home will be okay and I’ll be able to come back on reflection I think you know what it wasn’t that bad.
Lots of love Connor your son
