Skara Brae

Skara brae lies on

Orkney islands in

Scotland.It was built around 3200 BC,

and it is the best-preserved Neolithic settlement

in northen Europe.

For thousans

of years it was hidden away,covered by

sand and grass,

but

in 1850

,

a v

illage

of

stone

houses linked together by low,covered

passeges was reveald

.

Each house has one large square room,with a

fireplace at its centre, a bed on either side, and  opposite the doorway, a dresser with shelves on the wall. Neolithic people lived in Skara Brae.
