Day 4

Guess what, something really strange happened today….well a mysterious bright object appeared from the blue skies bringing some warmth for the day ahead! Yes finally some sun and it was perfect for what was lined up for the children.

Normal morning routines took place, wake up, have brekkie, brush teeth and then changed for the morning session which was a walk/hike around a country park called Trosely Park. With the weather on our side, the children were able to enjoy and learn about the peaceful and serene surroundings, filled with a touch of history as Jo (group leader explained to us.

In total we worked out the walk was over 3 miles, with 9,000 steps taken! The finale to the walk was a trek up a hill which was estimated by Oliver as having a slope of 100 degrees, basically meaning it was very steep! Some ran, some walked, some crawled but they all made it up and we ventured back to the mini bus for lunch at the centre.

Once sandwiches had been eaten the groups split into two to partake in Archery and Blind Siding. The children seemed to enjoy both sessions, and once over it was dinner and getting ready for the highlight of the week, the disco! Going back to her university days where she was known to spin a disc or two, DJ Becks (can you guess who that may have been), dusted down her record collection and played a mixture of 90’s music and….erm 90’s music!

The night was still young, as we then took the children into the woods for a camp fire along with toasted marshmallows. From there it was back to the accommodation for some unwinding time, with hot chocolate and a time to reflect back with the children about the week they had, had and what challenges they were most proud of.

Then it was time for bed, some downtime for the exhausted but happy adults, which nearly brings to end to an enjoyable, fun filled and rewarding week!

Parents/carers please try and attend Year 6’s assembly next Tuesday at 9.10am, where you will hear more about the week the children had.

Good night from all the staff and children and we look forward to seeing you all tomorrow, with our estimated arrival at 2.30pm, but please check with the office to confirm.
