It’s Christmas time
What a wonderful time of the year is Christmas! Christmas comes on the 25th December and we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. It is a time of parties, celebrations and fun and I love it.
Christmas isusually spent in the comfort of our house with all the family. Christmas means Midnight mass, meals, parties, decorations, shopping and a lot of presents. I like all these things, except Christmas shopping. I hate going around shops buying presents and clothes.
We normally start decorating our house a month before Christmas. We start by setting up the Christmas tree with colourful lights, baubles and the shining, glimmering star. We take out the crib and put Baby Jesus in the Manger decorated with red tinsel and lights.
On Christmas Eve we go to the procession of Baby Jesus and then we attend the Midnight mass. These celebrations make us appreciate more the Birth of Baby Jesus and make us feel at peace with ourselves and with everyone. Christmas is a time of forgiveness, kindness and charity.
During these days we are invited to many parties and we are given a lot of presents especially on Christmas day. When I was young I used to believe in Father
Christmas and I used to wait eagerly for his arrival. On Christmas day we prepare
a delicious meal at grandma’s house . The turkey with roasted potatoes, the Christmas log, the Christmas cake and pudding are never missing on our table.
I adore this time of the year and I wish that every day was Christmas. I am
always looking forward to the next Christmas! I hope that this Christmas will
be full of love, happiness, health and serenity for everyone!
