How long does it take the Moon to orbit the Earth?

It takes 27 days to go around the Earth and return to it's starting position . [ 27 days , 7 hours , 43 minutes and 11.6 seconds ] When the Moon orbits around the Earth it goes round like a squashed circle which is called an ellipse .

What is a Lunar Month?

A lunar month is the time the moon takes to pass through a complete cycle of its phases and is measured from New Moon to New Moon. It's about 29.5 days [ 29 days , 12 hours , 43 minutes and 11.6 seconds ]
