George Valentine Nash was a botanist and a horticulturist who mainly worked in the United States Of America. When people see his name, many don't recognise him since he wasn't in that much light. He wrote a few books in his life time.
George was born on the 6th of May in 1864. His parents were Scotto Clark Nash and Alice Valentine, he also had a sister called Mary. He was born in Brooklyn, New York. George's zodiac sign was a Taurus.
His Father's Impact, 🧪
When George was young, his father Scotto was a florist. He grew roses but in particular the American Beauty Rose that was imported from Britain in 1882. His father also built greenhouses and even participated in the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago. There, his father had an exhibit of cut roses.
George's Adult Hood🧪
George worked with New Jersey plants but also took interest in different grasses after being introduced to them by Dr. George Thurber. He also eventually got gifted a part of Dr. Thurber's Herbarium.
George joined the Torrey Botanical Club in 1891. There he met Nathaniel Lord Britton who was a fellow botanist and co-founded the club.
From 1894 to 1896 he helped gather specimens to study in Central Florida. Then he studied them at Columbia College.
