Day 4

Final full day, and again lots going on. The activities have been run on a carousel system, so today was about the children taking part in the sessions they have not done yet, which were river study, nature walk and orienteering. Much fun was had by all, and the children congregated in the early evening for dinner, which was beef chilli with rice, or vegetarian lasagne and a dessert right up my street, Apple and Berry Crumble and Custard. My fellow food critic for the week Cameron, agreed that it was worth a mark of 10/10 on the Crumble-o-meter, and it also went down well with everyone.

The children then spent any remaining money in the Gift Shop and turned their attentions to getting ready for the disco/party. There were varying degrees of attention to detail, with the girls (who looked radiant) taking half an hour to get ready, whilst the most of the boys (I won’t comment) taking half a minute. Girls don't expect it to change when you get older because it won’t!

Then it was back to the rooms, but a surprise for our birthday children, including Richard who is 11 tomorrow, in the form of a cake made by the centre staff. A fitting way to end a fabulous week, as the children were then packed off to bed for the final time, before a session tomorrow in between packing and getting ready for home.

I think Sophia summed it up, when she said to me, 'I didnt really know many of the girls from 6G but I feel like I do now after this trip." Hopefully the sense of cammaraderie will continue throughout the whole year.

The school will keep you posted of our arrival time so please check with the office, and this Tuesday both classes will be telling the school about the trip during their assembly which all parents are invited to, and lastly send in any final messages which can be read on the way home.
