Today we had a science lesson about evolution and Alfred Wallace. We were asked to blog about how certain animals had adapted to their environments. However, I can only remember three out of four animals, these are Polar bears, Dessert Gecko and Camel. I will start in the order I listed these. However, I will do Dessert Geckos and Camels in separate blogs ( to get more blogs than Mr Anderson)!
How Polar bears have evolved Polar bears originally have black skin, but over time they have evolved into what they're now due to climate change. They now have blubber and thick beige-y coloured fur because of the harsh weather conditions. Due to the fact that they have the ability to swim, allows them to catch fish with their razor sharp teeth and claws. Furthermore, them being able to swim means they can find sea lions and invade. Moreover, their claws allow them to climb Mountains. In addition to this, they usually don't have to worry about leaving anyone special to them behind because, if they do give birth, they only stay with their cubs for a year or so and see the Mountain a perfect obstacle to prepare them for hunting and more about how to live in the world by themselves. Whereas before, when they weren't fully adapted to their new environment, none of these methods existed. That is my theory of how Polar bears have evolved!
