1) Six global news reported here. Identify the themes that link the news from the different countries.

3) Look at the story on Gabon.

a) Why is it easy for gorrilas to catch human desease?

It says in the text ' The respiratory viruses that effect humans are easily transmitted to

great because the two species are so closely related'.


b) Why would it be terrible news if the coronavirus spread to other great apes? Use your own knowledge of these animals.

It would be terrible if the coronavirus spread to these animals because they hard to treat and especially in Africa they would be hard to care for.


4) a) Find the meaning of these words:

scaremongering - the process of saying or doing something in order to deliberately make people feel worried or frightened, especially so that you can gain an advantage.

camaraderie - mutual trust and friendship among people who spend a lot of time together."the enforced camaraderie of office life"

caremongering -  New Word Suggestion. a movement encouraging acts of kindness, especially to help vulnerable people, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

b) Why was the new word needed?

The word was created for social media groups in Canada that where set up to provide help to people in needce

6) What message is being given by the sand sculpture. Explain in your own words.

The sculpture is giving you a huge inportant reminder about how bad the coronavirus is and how you should take staying inside and all that hygine is underated and so inportant.
