Islington Primary Schools Football League
Our footballers have encountered mixed fortunes in the IPSFL recently. The girls took on Yerbury, and came up against a very good side, who ended up beating us 2-0. This is not to take away the effort the girls put in, we were missing key players and also nursing injuries and illnesses, however this shouldn't detract anything from the victors. The girls bounced back to seal a draw against Christ The King Primary. We fell behind in the second half, but fought back well to equalise through captain Zoe as the game ended 1-1.
On a brighter note the boys sparkling form continues. Yerbury boys were first up, and despite dominating the game we couldn't break the deadlock. But Stephane stepped up in the absence of Han and Jordan and his goal was enough to seal a very satisfying 1-0 win.
Our next game wasn't so difficult as we beat Christ The King Primary 10-0. Our opponents who are new to the league and still finding their feet, found it hard to contain our exciting attackers.
We went a goal up through Stephane and then further goals from Stephane, 6 for Jordan and strikes from Cameron and Louis made it 6 wins out of 6 in the league and means a win or draw in our last game against Grafton Primary on Tuesday 24th April will seal the North League title. So if you are free pop down to Whittington Park to cheer them on.
