Word: '...The silence was deafening...'
I crept up the stairs, with my little sister following behind.
The silence was deafening until it was broken by my sister screaming.
"What?!" I whisper-shouted
She didn't reply. I turned around - she was gone. Darkness surrounded me and only then I realised that someone was watching me, and it wasn't my sister. I ran for the door, my heart, thundering. My hands were shaking, I couldn't turn the handle on the door. I finally opened it. And a sense of relief ran over me. I was never ever going to that house... EVER AGAIN.
