Candles!
Hi everyone, today I'm going to be doing a blog about candles. Surprise, surprise! Anyways, I am in LOVE with brands like 'The White Company', 'Paddywax' & 'Yankee Candle'.
I am going to be showing you how to make a candle, as I made one. My one was a pale lilac, with a scent of almonds.
1. First grab a jar. Whether its a jam jar, a mason jar
or a glass, go for it.
2. Secondly, buy some inexpensive dinner candles (that are the colour of your choice). I found some at Tiger with a '3 for £1' deal, you only need about 1 and a half.
3. Buy some candle wicks (the string coated in wax, that you burn) from a shop (I recommend Amazon) and glue it to the bottom of the jar.
4. Shave your dinner candles using a knife (ask an adult for help) and put them into a heat safe jug or jar. Place your jug filled with shaved wax into a pan of boiling water. Wait until the wax becomes clear.
5. Now add a quarter of your essential oil for scent. I have
this grapefruit one from 'MUJI' in Angel, it smells amazing!
Make sure your essential oil doesn't contain water or it will
evaporate and you won't have a scent!

6. Hold the wick using 2 chopsticks so it won't get
in the way. Ask a responsible adult to carefully
pour the melted wax into the jar of your choice,
avoiding the wick.
7. Wait for it to cool down COMPLETELY,
and then pop it in the fridge for 2 - 3
hours to set. When it has set, enjoy
your handmade candle!
You can also put a label on it!
