this is my version of the poem "Geography lesson" by Brian Patterson

Our teacher told us one day he would leave the school

and gaze upon the turquiose waterfall as I layed amongst the lushious land

a paradise island with dancing palm trees

dangiling in hammock while getting a tan

The house he lived in was narrow and grey

in his minds eyes

a golden sun beaming beside the shrubbery along his coconut bay

as his pond shimmers as he sat and and sighs

Gesturing hand of his holy land he had longed to visit

where there was no brush of dullness nor cold and couldnt understand why he never left

and shook off our schools stranglehold
